Holmes Conservation Area

The Town purchased the property from Arthur S. Holmes and Muriel E. Holmes in 1975 for $3,000, $1,500 of which was a State of Massachusetts “self-help” grant. The remaining $1,500 came from the Conservation Land Fund. The purpose of the purchase was to conserve, protect and properly utilize open space. This point of land lies opposite the Spaulding-Proctor Reservation and abuts the Goldthwaite Conservation Area.

The property abuts Massapoag Pond and has been designated Critical Natural Landscape.
