Pierce Town Forest
In 1929, the Town of Dunstable purchased, for three hundred dollars from the Estate of George W. Pierce, 131-acres now known as the George Pierce Town Forest. Town Forests are considered “dedicated open space”.
The Town Forest Committee manages the property, following a forestry plan to selective cut trees, creating a healthier forest. In 2020, as Red Pine Scale moved north into our area, the Committee voted to harvest most of the Red Pine.
