Volunteer on Projects

When we organize work parties, we will also post a call for volunteers using this list. We have the tools.

Projects (easy to harder) include:

  1. Clearing fallen branches from trails
  2. Repairing any trail washouts, holes
  3. Trimming (widening) trails
  4. Adding/replacing trail markers and signs
  5. Occasional larger projects like creating new trails or adding boardwalks in wet areas

Other Ways That Hikers Can Help

  • Stay on marked trails — unmarked trails may be private property or have hazards on them — please respect private property
  • Avoid damaging trails — if the trails are wet and muddy, please avoid mountain biking and horseback riding until the trails dry and are less prone to erosion.
  • Do not leave any litter — Litter includes food scraps.  All trails are carry-in, carry-out.
We really appreciate those that sometimes bring a trash bag and take home any litter you find!
  • Move any sticks or fallen branches off the trail as you hike — help us keep trails clear!
  • Report issues you encounter on the trails that you cannot resolve yourself.
  • Watch out for and report invasive bugs like the Spotted Lanternfly
